Tuition Fees

  • The scholarship covers full tuition fees, paid directly to the host university in Malaysia upon receipt of an invoice from the university.

Monthly Allowance

  • Students receive a monthly allowance of 3500 Malaysian Ringgit (800$), transferred directly to their bank account in Malaysia.

Airfare

  • The scholarship includes a one-time economy class round-trip air ticket from the nearest international airport to the student's place of residence to Malaysia and back to their home country after completing their studies.

Admission Criteria for the MTCP Master's Scholarship in Malaysia


Eligibility

  • Applicants must be international students from developing countries eligible for the MTCP program.
  • The applicant's age should not exceed 45 years at the time of application.

Academic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree with at least a Second Class Upper degree or a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 3.00 out of 4.00.

English Language Requirements

  • IELTS certificate with an overall score of 6.0 or higher
  • TOEFL iBT certificate with an overall score of 60 or higher
  • Or proof that previous university studies were conducted in English as the language of instruction.

How to Apply for the Malaysian Government Scholarship 2025?



Note
The same system is used throughout the application and selection process. Therefore, applicants may be required to log in multiple times to track the status of their application or to submit additional documents.

Required Documents (Must be uploaded in PDF format):


  • A copy of the information page of the passport (with a validity of at least 12 months)
  • A copy of the academic transcript (including all subjects studied during the academic program - Bachelor's degree) + a document explaining the grading system used by the university (must be authenticated if it does not include the cumulative grade point average or percentage)
  • Proof of English language proficiency (TOEFL/IELTS/MUET or an official letter from the previous university stating that English was the language of instruction)
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Medical examination report (the Medical Report Form can be downloaded from here)
  • Two letters of recommendation from academic or professional referees (the Recommendation Letter Form can be downloaded from here)
  • Final or conditional acceptance letter from one of the Malaysian universities for academic enrollment in September/October 2025 (the list of eligible universities is available on the official website of the scholarship)
